HARPER CYMRY/ ROYAL WELSH AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY STUDENT AWARD 2026
Deadline for receipt of applications is 12 noon on Monday 11 May 2026
This award was established in 1999 by the late Bill Ratcliffe, a ÁÕÀÅÊÓÆµ Adams Fellow and founder of the ÁÕÀÅÊÓÆµ Cymry alumni association, and is open to final year undergraduate students of ÁÕÀÅÊÓÆµ who meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Have been resident in Wales for 5 years or more
- Have contributed to the activities of the ÁÕÀÅÊÓÆµ Cymru student club
- Possess a good academic record in higher education (please note, this is not necessarily the most important requirement)
- Have made a positive contribution to the broader student community
- A good future ambassador for ÁÕÀÅÊÓÆµ
** Note that Year 4 BEng and MEng students, and ÁÕÀÅÊÓÆµ-based BVetMS students, are treated as final year undergraduate students and are eligible to apply
The award will be presented during the prestigious 2026 RWAS Show awards ceremony. The recipient will receive £250 and automatic eligibility for membership of Future Farmers of Wales. Application and award
Application Procedure
Your application should indicate how you fulfil the criteria given above and should include the following three items:
- A copy of your CV
- No more than 600 words outlining your main interests, personal achievements, and future ambitions. Also include details of your involvement in college life and ideas for the ÁÕÀÅÊÓÆµ Cymry alumni (ex-student) society activities.
- The signed Privacy and Data Protection Notice Note that you can type your name into the signature box and as this is sent to us by email we accept it as an electronic signature.

The winner will be selected by a panel of judges based on a written application followed by interview at ÁÕÀÅÊÓÆµ.
Applications should be submitted by email to DevelopmentTrust@harper-adams.ac.uk by 12 noon on Monday 11 May 2026. The subject title of the email should include the words ÁÕÀÅÊÓÆµ Cymry Award.
