    ÁÕÀÅÊÓÆµ Adams student, Florence Turley, has been named Dairy Student of the Year 2020.

    Following her application, interview, and presentation, the BSc Agriculture with Animal Science student was awarded her prize at , an innovative convention for all generations of dairy farmers.

    “I’m so pleased to have been named Dairy Student of the Year,” Florence says, “I’d really like to thank Professor Liam Sinclair for his support through the whole competition as well as the farm management lecturers who offered their advice when writing the consultancy report.

    “Being at ÁÕÀÅÊÓÆµ has given me such great opportunities, like the placement year, and without them I wouldn’t have had the same chances to learn from the dairy industry. The whole university experience is encompassed in the ÁÕÀÅÊÓÆµ spirit and I’m pleased to be a part of it.”

    After reaching the semi-finals, Florence has continued to highlight her ability and drive in pioneering the future of the dairy industry through genetics, breeding and rearing of cattle. With a technological understanding of the industry, she hopes her acquired knowledge will help her pursue a career in consultancy.

    The competition seeks to showcase emerging academic talent in the dairy industry and the upcoming challenges they may face.
